Hon. Prof. G.L. Peiris attending at the 2nd Session of the Ministerial Council of the Asia Pacific Trade Agreement (APTA)


The Second Session of the Ministerial Council of the Asia Pacific Trade Agreement (APTA) was held on 26 October 2007, in Goa, India.
Hon Prof. G. L. Peiris, Minister of Export Development & International Trade together with the officials of the Department of Commerce attended the session. Several important decisions, including, the launching of fourth round of negotiations for exchanging of tariff concessions and expansion of membership were taken at the meeting. The Ministers also adopted certification and verification procedures of Certificate of Origin drafted by the Standing Committee of the APTA.
