Senior officials of the Governments of the United States and Sri Lanka met at the Office of the United States Trade Representative on 15th November 2011 for the 9th meeting of the United States-Sri Lanka Trade and Investment Framework Agreement (TIFA) Council. The Department of Commerce, Colombo is pleased to inform the Sri Lankan business community that the US GSP Program, which came to a temporary halt at the end of 2010 due to some domestic concerns, has now been extended till the end of 2013 and the US President is expected to sign the Reauthorization bill into law shortly.
