The Department of Commerce wishes all Sri Lankans, both at home and abroad, a Happy and Prosperous 2013. Looking back at 2012, we are pleased to have been part of export growth and expanding international trade relations of Sri Lanka. With the valuable cooperation of our Trade Officers based in Sri Lankan Missions abroad and other Business Supporting Organizations in Sri Lanka, the Department looks forward to play an active role in further advancing our commercial interest during the coming year as well.
P.D Fernando, the new Director General of Department of Commerce was felicitated by the NCE at the Council Meeting held in May at the Taj Samudra.
The Welfare Association of the Department of Commerce organized a Christmas Carols on 20.12.2012 to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. Rev. Father Angelo of the Fatima Church, Maradana, was invited as the Chief Guest.Delivering a short sermon , he explained the importance of the birth of Jesus, and the value of Christ’s message to love each other. Staff members also performed a series of Christmas Carols.
