Reflection of Sri Lanka Ends on Sunday

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

President Mahinda Rajapaksa inaugurated the "Reflection of Sri Lanka" Trade, Tourism and Investment Exhibition at the Janakala Kendraya at Battaramulla yesterday. The exhibition which showcases Sri Lankan products including machinery and handicrafts will be held until the 17th of this month.

There are more than 400 stalls in the exhibition and everything that a foreigner can get from Sri Lanka is on display at this exhibition. China Engineering and Technology Expo is also conducted at the same venue.

A joint Trade, Tourism and Investment exhibition parallel to the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) has been organized to be held from November until 17, at the Janakala Kendraya in Battaramulla in Colombo under the title "Reflection of Sri Lanka".

This exhibition has been jointly organized by the Ministries of Economic Development, Industry and Commerce and Investment Promotion.

More than 300 Sri Lankan exporters including 75 machinery exporters and 100 technology providers and 200 SMEs will showcase their products at this mega exhibition.

z_bus-p26-Reflection03.jpgSri Lanka Board of Investment is planning to get foreign investments increased to 10 million U.S.$ within the next 4 years as a result of the CHOGM. He said that the BOI will present 56 Investment Proposals to the Heads of States and the participants of the Business Forum. "This increasing trend is a clear indication of the potential that exists for further expansion of our trade in goods. The initiatives taken during the visit of President Mahinda Rajapaksa to China this year to expand bilateral trade through FTA is very important for China and Sri Lanka bilateral trade journey" z_bus-p26-Reflection06_0.jpgMinister said.

CHINCA is the national organization formed by Chinese international project investors, contractors, labour service companies and related service providers.

Since its establishment in 1988, it has so far concluded project agreements to the total of $ 955 billion across the world, of which $ 624 Bn of projects have been concluded so far. Ms Yu Xiao Hong (General Secretary of CHINCA), addressing the event, said: "We are operating in more than 184 countries across the world in a spectrum of heavy infrastructure projects includein petrochemicals, cement, rail, port and airport infrastructures. We will continue to open our sectors too for overseas investors."

" We aim to build a strong platform for Chinese operators in Sri Lanka. Within the Reflection of Sri Lanka event itself, we have 1300 Sq Ft stall with 50 Chinese enterprises today.

They include many businesses across many sectors including engineering contractors and engineering equipment manufacturers too."

Wesak Dharma Deshana

The welfare Association of the Department of commerce organized the annual “Vesak Dhamma Deshana” on 22nd of May 2013 at the Department conference hall. Ven. Hanthane Dhammagaveshi Thero preached on a timely topic  taken from the “Pothali Suthraya” of the “Majjima Nikaya”. The whole staff participated at the event.

“Reflection of Sri Lanka” Global Event on Trade, Investment and Tourism parallel to CHOGM

The Government of Sri Lanka is pleased to invite you to participate at a rare trade, industry, culture and tourism promotion event which is being organized parallel to the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) and the Commonwealth Business Forum (CBF). The Exhibition will be held from 13-17 November, 2013 in Colombo with the participation of numerous private and public sector agencies, trade and industry chambers and an array of both local and international stakeholders.
