Exports - The value of total exports of sri lanka during 2006 was US$ 6829.5 Million with an increase of US$ 664.1 Million (10.8%) from the previous year, 2005.
Imports - The value of total imports of sri lanka during 2006 was US$ 9867.7 Million with an increase of US$ 1552.5 million (18.7%) from the previous year, 2005.
3 Million Pieces of Garments at zero duty to India under Indo-Sri Lanka Free Trade Agreement
(without any restrictions including ports or sourcing of fabrics)
As a result of on going negotiations under Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between Sri Lanka and India, India has removed restriction on entry ports and sourcing of fabrics for 3 million pieces of apparel products from Sri Lanka to India at zero duty, out of the available Tariff Rate Quota (TRQ) of 8 million pieces of apparel products.
